The demand for VR is on the rise, with the use of the much-talked-about Metaverse as well as games, videos, and attractions.
Because the technology is still relatively new, many creators are experimenting with it in a variety of ways, and it is a genre that is likely to continue to grow and develop.
However, you need a VR headset to experience it, so an initial investment is required.
However, starting in August 2022, the price of the Meta Quest 2 standalone VR headset will increase significantly, raising the hurdle to adoption.
That being the case, the PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) will suddenly get a lot of attention!
The latest in PS VR for PS5, with OLED display, motion sensors and eye tracking, and innovative orb-shaped controller.
Furthermore, the see-through view that allows users to see their surroundings while wearing the headset has been a topic of conversation whenever new information has been announced, but... the important thing is that no release date or price has been announced.
With the Tokyo Game Show 2022 just around the corner, we thought it was about time for some news, and finally, the release date for PS VR2 has been announced!
Coming early 2023!
PS VR2 will be released in early 2023, PlayStation announced on their official Twitter (@PlayStation_jp)!
When you say early, we expect January or February, but I think it's safe to assume that they will release the product by the end of the first half of the year at the latest!
State of Play | 6.3.2022 was released in June 2022, and titles such as "Resident Evil 4" and "Horizon Call of the Mountain" are also being produced for PS VR2, so we will soon have more information along with the supported titles. There should be more news soon!
And maybe there will be some kind of announcement or exhibition at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 starting Thursday, September 15, 2022...?
Let's hope for the best and look forward to more news!
