The silicone cover is being replaced.
The reason for this action is due to reports of minor skin irritation where the "headset facepiece" comes in contact with the skin.
The company said that "such reports are rare and most of the symptoms reported are minor, " but it has replaced the attached part with a new silicone cover that is " safe and comfortable for all users " and will resume shipping on August 24, 2011 (US time). The company has also announced that it has already begun shipping the "Ocular" device.
The new silicone cover will be available free of charge to all existing Oculus Quest 2 and Fit Pack owners.
