The PlayStation 5 (PS5 ), the next-generation console game console, finally went on sale today, November 12, 2020 (Thursday).
The first shipment of PS5 has been sold out by pre-order, and it has been announced that PS5 will not be sold in stores on the day of release, leaving many fans eagerly awaiting its shipment.
To celebrate the launch of PS5, a PS5-related lighting event was held at Kanda Myojin in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward from 18:00 to 24:00 on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, the day before the launch.
Kanda Myojin lit up to PS5 specifications.
The lighting event was held as part of the PS5 Global Launch Event, which will be held sequentially in various countries around the world.
The event was held at Kanda Myojin near Akihabara, a mecca for otaku culture and electronics products.
With a history of 1,300 years, the shrine has hosted a variety of anime and digital events.
At this year's event, the precincts of the shrine were decorated with the PS5 logo, tagline, projected shapes such as △○×□□, and the iconic PlayStation blue-centered lights, representing the dawn of a new era of gaming brought about by PS5.
The global launch event can be viewed on PlayStation 's official Twitter.
