Set to be released on April 20th, the new Nintendo Switch version of Animal Crossing (called Animal Crossing: New Horizons) has veterans and newcomers to the series waiting for the new experiences that they’ll be able to get in this new installment to the series.
Sadly, production has taken a hit from the Novel Coronavirus, which caused Nintendo to move the pre-order date of the special edition console back to March 7th, but in an unexpected move, they announced that they would not be accepting pre-orders for the special edition console on the My Nintendo Store.
Suspension of Pre-Orders on My Nintendo Store
Nintendo has stated that in order to provide enough stock for retail stores, they have decided to not accept pre-orders from the My Nintendo Store, which seems to go against the norm of putting direct sales first.
Pre-orders will only be stopped for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Switch Set, but preorders will still be available for individual indivisual items, such as the dock and joycons.
Nintendo will release details to if the items will be available for purchase after pre-orders are send out.
For more details on where to pre-order, see Nintendo’s Official Animal Crossing Website.
