Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), together with its eSports business RTS, announced today that it has acquiredThe Evolution Championship Series ( Evo), the world's largest fighting game eSports event.

In conjunction with the acquisition announcement, the company announced that it will host Evo Online, a fully online event, from Friday, August 6, 2021 to Sunday, August 8, 2021 and Friday, August 13, 2021 to Sunday, August 15, 2021 (U.S. local time ).
Participation is free of charge. Tekken 7, Street Fighter V Champion Edition, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, and GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- will be available in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. - The tournament will be held in an open tournament format.
