RAGE PUBG MOBILE Don't Win Festival " was held on the special stage of Roppongi Hills Arena at the Teresa Summer Festival on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
When funglr Games heard about the festival, we couldn't resist rushing to the event, and we'll be back to bring you more coverage of the event in this issue!
This year's event featured the comedy duo Impulse's Toshiyuki Itakura, popular female voice actress Akari Uehara, and popular singer-songwriter GACKT as guests.
Not only PUBG fans, but also fans of the guests filled the venue and the event was a great success.
It was a hot event under the blazing sun.
The event will be broadcast on OPENREC.tv and YouTube!
This distribution booth was set up in front of the entrance for players.
Inside, there were many monitors showing the audience and the game screen, and the game screen was switched during the distribution.
The many monitors and the staff watching over them. Thank you for your hard work in the hot weather.
The first and second games were streamed on OPENREC.tv and YouTube, and the third game was an exhibition match that only those in attendance could watch.
These cool happi coats were distributed to the players.
Everyone wore it during the match and took it off when they were killed. The rules are easy for spectators to understand.
By the way, the Don Katsuri on the back is dazzling. I want one too...!
The event is about to start!
When the time came, the stage was lit up and Mr. OooDA, the play-by-play commentator, and Mr. Yoppy, the commentator, appeared on stage. The event began with Mr. OooDa's "PUBG Don't Win Festival!
Mr. OooDa was so enthusiastic that he had been wearing a hachimaki for three hours prior to the event.
Summer naturally gets you fired up, doesn't it? I understand.
Nine invited players and professional players appeared on stage. They were all wearing happi coats, and were very enthusiastic.
Next, guests, comedian Itakura-san, voice actress Akari Uehara, and GACKT-sama took the stage.
Mr. GACKT appeared with a happi coat around his waist. It was cool.
In this tournament, a total of 100 players, including the general public, 9 professional players, and guest players, will battle it out to be the last one to win in solo play.
The winner will receive one of these gorgeous prizes. The audience was thrilled when the gold Level 3 helmets appeared on stage.
Before the games started, each player took his seat and started preparing his terminal.
The temperature that day was 33 degrees Celsius. An announcement was made to warn the players against heat stroke. All the players were wearing cooling pads and preparing drinks.
By the way, Mr. GACKT carries a water bottle filled with an enzyme drink.
We also got a glimpse of a side of GACKT that you can't see on TV, such as the fact that he eats one meal a day.
Let the games begin! The audience was excited to see the guests play!
The game was shown on the big screen next to the stage.
Itakura-san screamed "Damn!" and was killed early in the game.
GACKT-sama changed the unfavorable situation and killed his opponent from the bottom of the indoor stairs. The audience was thrilled by his professional performance.
Akari Uehara also beat two professional players and was the seventh out of 100 players to be eliminated.
The winner of the first match was Nashmera, who took advantage of the undulations in the ground to defeat the pro players.
The Most Kill award for defeating the most opponents went to imoNari from DETONATOR. The players praised each other on stage.
Food and drink booths around the festival! Quench your thirst and prevent heat stroke!
There were many booths around the venue where you could enjoy food.
PUBG Lover Man is the first to start drinking beer after the event. He may be enjoying this festival the most.
More excitement! The second round of fierce battles!
Mr. GACKT and Ms. Akari Uehara, perhaps looking for a battle with a strong opponent, are charging into the battlefield more and more.
The highlight of the second match was, after all, the one-on-one battle between those two.
It was a psychological battle of footsteps on the first and second floors of the building.
Akari Uehara won by a hair's breadth! They were gallantly heading to the next battlefield.
The winner of the second match was Fukuda-kun, who had survived a number of critical situations. We even got a picture of him! Congratulations!
It's me who will win! The fierce battle to win the Don!
The third match was an exhibition match with no distribution, and was played on "Sanhok," a map with a narrower stage than the first and second matches.
The players were densely packed, and their numbers were rapidly decreasing from the beginning.
According to Mr. GACKT, beginners in "Sanhok" should first go down to the boot camp (a fierce battleground with many buildings and supplies at different elevations) and absorb the information while getting hit by strong players over and over again.
He told us that it is better to be in a tough situation, like a warrior who has fought many battles in the past.
Prizes such as original Donkatsu T-shirts and RAGE T-shirts were sent to the 1st~5th place winners.
PUBG Offline Tournament!
I got the impression that there were many female players and women in the bleachers. There were many women playing PUBG on the bleachers as well. It looks like there will be more and more female players in the future.
It was great to see so many people gathered in one place for the offline tournament, and even the spectators joined in the excitement!
The RAGE x Teresa Summer Festival runs through Sunday, August 18, and admission to the RAGE booth is free!
