JCG Co., Ltd. holds "eSports PR marketing seminar" for advertising companies and corporate marketing


(JCG), the e-sports online competition platform provider, announced today that it will hold an " e-sports PR and Marketing Seminar " event for advertising companies and corporate marketers on Friday, February 4, 2022.

About the "e-sports PR and Marketing Seminar

Junichi Matsumoto, CEO of JCG, will present "How can eSports be used for PR and Marketing? " I want to incorporate e-sports as a new method of brand appeal! The seminar will introduce PR, marketing, and brand appeal measures utilizing e-sports, based on the experience of organizing and running more than 1,000 e-sports events per year and the knowledge and know-how cultivated through these events.

The seminar will be held from 16:00 to 17:00 on February 4, 2022 (Friday), at an online venue (Zoom), and participation is free of charge.
After 17:00, there will be an online business meeting.

The target participants are as follows

  • Persons in charge of PR, marketing, sales promotion, advertising, etc.
  • Media-related companies
  • Other companies considering the use of e-sports

After graduating from Widener University, Electrical Engineering Department, he joined Japan Telecom Corporation (currently Softbank Corporation) in 2000.
In 2013, he joined Milestone Corporation, a distributor of gaming devices, PCs, and peripherals, and launched the e-sports online competition platform "JCG" (Japan Competitive Gaming) as a new business.
Mr. Matsumoto has also established a gaming community since 2007 and has organized and managed numerous e-sports tournaments both online and offline, making e-sports a viable business in the early days of the industry.

In May 2017, he established JCG Inc. as a company specializing in e-sports and became a director of the company.
At that time, it was a wholly owned subsidiary of Bitcash Corporation, but in 2019 Bitcash divested itself of all shares and Matsumoto became the company's representative director in August and its CEO in December 2019.
JCG then raised a total of 500 million yen in Series B funding in 2021.
Mr. Matsumoto also serves as a member of the "Study Committee on Measures to Revitalize e-Sports," a project under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
